Town Farm House stands towards the northern outskirts of the village, just 400 yards from the market square. Orford has remained mostly unaffected by the 21st century.
In Pump Street is the award winning bakery where they bake lovely artisan bread using sour dough, pastries and chocolatier; it also has a cafe serving brunch and pastries and even does takeaways. Please note it is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
A visit to the historic ‘English Heritage’ Norman castle is a must, with breathtaking views of Orford from the top.
In the Market Square is The Crown and Castle hotel, the Trinity gourmet restaurant and Butley of Orford Oysterage restaurant, favoured by fresh seafood enthusiasts. Selling newspapers and magazines, is a booth in the town hall which operates on an honesty box system and there's a market in the town hall on Saturday mornings.
Out of the Market Hill towards the quay, follow the road pass the lovely St. Bartholomews church, round the corner and pass the green with its very pretty cottages. Directly opposite the car park is The Jolly Sailor serving good pub food and beer. At the quay there is a Pinney's deli where all sorts of fish, fresh or smoked and other items can be purchased.
From the quay you can enjoy a river lunch and dinner cruise on the Lady Florence, taking you up the rivers Alde and Ore whilst enjoying a good meal. Booking is essential. The boat Regardless also runs river trips, children's activity trips, fishing and bird watching and the quay is a great place to catch crabs.
To the left of the quay is Brinkley's fresh fish shed and a little further to the tea shop, where apart from sampling their cakes and pastries you can sit outside and relax by the side of the river.
All in all, Orford is a delightful place, people return here year after year enjoying everything it has to offer.

Please note that this property is located on the main road into Orford with primary school located opposite, there may therefore be some traffic noise heard.
