Great service, easy booking and payment.
Lovely cottage, warm and cosy, would recommend for a winter break. The facilities were good, well equipped, clean and well thought out. Pretty setting, and although it was too wet to sit down by the river, it would be relaxing in the warmer months. Booking was easy, owner lovely and approachable.
I have booked through Best of Suffolk several times. It is a trouble free process.

Amazing service and the property was amazing

Best of Suffolk is an award-winning, independent, family-run holiday cottage lettings agency, bringing the experience of a boutique hotel to self-catering in Suffolk.
The company was established by Naomi and Alex Tarry with just six properties in 2006. The agency has now grown to represent over 400 properties in Suffolk. In the early days, a wooden seagull named Morris adorned the fireplace of Aldeburgh Cottage, Best of Suffolk’s first holiday cottage. He soon became recognised as the symbol of the company and now stands for luxury holiday accommodation in Suffolk.
From the beginning, Best of Suffolk has stood for consistently high standards and stylish properties. Before a new property is launched, we ensure that it will delight guests and reach our brand standards, including items such as an agreed contents list, crisp cotton linen and oversized bath towels. These small touches underline our commitment to delighting our guests, enabling them to have outstanding holidays in Suffolk.
Self-catering cottages offer the perfect base from which to explore Suffolk and the surrounding areas. If you’d like to be close to the sea, we have a great selection of seaside cottages in some of the most popular locations, including Aldeburgh and Southwold. Alternatively, if you prefer curling up in front of an open fire in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, we have some cosy cottages with stunning views, wildlife and country walks on your doorstep. We also have many pet-friendly holiday cottages which accept dogs. What’s better, we don’t charge for four-legged friends to come too!
The Best of Suffolk team are all local to the area, so if you need a little advice on where to go and things to do, we can help! We know the best places to eat and drink, fun things for children to do, options for older guests and even where your dog is welcome.
If you’re looking for weekend bolt hole or a longer stay to fully explore the area, then a Best of Suffolk holiday cottage is perfect for you.
So why make Suffolk your next holiday destination? We know we’re biased, but it truly is a beautiful county with lots of activities to suit the whole family.
Many people come to Suffolk for the coastline and there are many options, depending on the type of holiday you are looking for. Southwold is a quintessentially English seaside town, with a 623ft long pier, originally built in 1900. The town also features restaurants, shops, an award winning fish and chip shop and is the home to the well-known Adnams Brewery.
A short walk away is the pretty village of Walberswick, offering a quieter location, but still with great local pubs and the opportunity to buy fresh fish from huts along the harbour.
If you’d like to experience a little more history or nature, stay in one of our Dunwich cottages and learn about the town which has mostly been lost to the sea. A little further along the coast is RSPB Minsmere, 2500 acres of nature reserve that is home to an impressive variety of birds and other species. We have selected self-catering cottages especially for bird watching breaks, including ones in nearby Sizewell and Westleton.
Looking for a little culture? Aldeburgh not only has a beautiful beach, but also art galleries, craft and antique shops, an independent cinema, and a host of pubs and restaurants. Aldeburgh was also home the composer Benjamin Britten and many aspects of his life feature around the town. Britten also founded an annual classical music festival at the nearby Snape Maltings. This well-known landmark also hosts other concerts, festivals, food events and art exhibitions, along with unique shops and eateries, all within an area of outstanding beauty popular with walkers, nature lovers and bird watchers. Best of Suffolk offers a range of Aldeburgh and Snape cottages sleeping anything from 2 to 24 guests, so you can travel with as many friends and family as you like!
Further inland and with good transport links to London and Cambridge is the historic town of Bury St Edmunds. The town centre is dominated by the 1000-year-old Abbey of St Edmund, set within beautiful gardens and next to St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Bury is also a cosmopolitan town, hosting outstanding restaurants, shops and a host of other activities. Bury St Edmunds is also one of the Suffolk Wool Towns, which were once some of the richest places in the country.
One of the best persevered of these towns is medieval Lavenham, with 340 listed buildings, including historic timber-framed grand houses such as De Vere House, featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Other Suffolk Wool Towns include Long Melford, Sudbury, Ipswich, Hadleigh and the small town of Clare, boasting a country park, Augustinian Priory and Clare Castle, which dates back William, the Conqueror.
Everyone is different, and that’s why we have a range of Suffolk holiday cottages to suit:
Our large Suffolk holiday cottages sleep anything up to 24 guests in luxury manor houses and pairs or groups of cottages next to each other. Many of our large holiday cottages in Suffolk also have spacious dining and reception rooms perfect for entertaining, large outside spaces with room for marquees, extra features such as games rooms, cinemas and extra services like chefs and butlers. We also have some pairs of cottages, ideal for families, sets of couples or friends.
