Westgate Cottage's ground floor has generous reception rooms with ample space for five guests to relax in the large kitchen/breakfast room, cosy living room and dining room for more formal dining; both with wood burners for the winter months and doors to the garden for the summer - making it perfect at any time of the year. The three bedrooms on the first floor are equally pretty and all conveniently positioned for the big modern bathroom.
Located amidst some of England's most beautiful Lowland landscape with the Essex Way (an 81 mile footpath!), an award-winning restaurant, nostalgic Tea House and boat hire on the doorstep, there's certainly plenty to do here. When you're ready for some peace and quiet the large lawned garden or secluded walled courtyard are the ideal place to wind down and there's parking for three cars on the gravel drive.

The gravel drive has space for three cars to park close to the front door, please park on the drive and not in front of the property outside the picket fence.

This detached holiday cottage is in a great location for exploring Constable Country, where Britain's greatest landscape artist went to school, with the National Trust's Flatford Mill a 90 minute walk away. Dedham contains some of England's most beautiful landscape and is particularly renowned for the Water Meadows of the River Stour which form the boundary between Essex and Suffolk. The Essex Way is literally on the doorstep, an 81 mile footpath taking you through interesting towns and delightful villages with riverside sections and a nature reserve where you can spot owls, yellowhammers and song thrushes.
Dedham itself has an attractive main street lined with Georgian-fronted houses, old inns, art/crafts centre, large playground and magnificent church built from the wealth of the cloth industry.
Food lovers will be spoilt for choice with the award-winning Le Talbooth Restaurant (and Spa) within walking distance; the fabulous Boathouse Restaurant where you can also hire boats or canoes to build up an appetite; the traditional Essex Rose Tea Room and the luxury country house hotel, Milsoms, all within walking distance.
For those wishing to use public transport, Manningtree is just two miles away and you can get a taxi from the station.
