The open plan living space is sure to be the hub of your holiday. A well-equipped kitchen sits at one side with butcher's block and dining table with six chairs; openings lead through to the elegant living room with double doors taking you to the patio and garden. Two pretty bedrooms are also on the ground floor, ideal for guests with a mobility problem, together with an en-suite shower room and family bathroom. An impressive lofty master suite sits on the first floor with a fabulous view of the moat.
This detached granary has an enclosed east-facing courtyard for secure parking and space to sit with your morning coffee. At the back is a wide patio, furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs; a peaceful place to sit back and enjoy the surroundings with barn owls and muntjacs regularly passing by. For the more adventurous, the beautiful Suffolk coast is a half hour drive away and there's an excellent village pub which you can walk to and get a lift home from the owners.
Hard flooring runs throughout the ground floor, with rugs in the living room and bedrooms. Double doors open from the courtyard into the kitchen/dining room and there are doors from the living room and hallway to the garden – easy access for relaxing or dining in the fresh air. There’s also a door from the Deer bedroom the courtyard. The ground floor’s divided into living space on one side with a hallway leading to bedrooms and a shower room on the other.

(Please note that the bed/s are slightly shorter than standard at 6'3" long and, when split into twin beds each is 2'6" wide - the standard is 3').

There is also a 57cm Weber Kettle charcoal BBQ (charcoal not provided).

The Granary is a large detached property sitting on Red House Farm in rural Suffolk, surrounded by farmland, just 30 minutes drive from the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast.
Fressingfield is the closest village where you'll find the Fox and Goose, an AA 2 Rosettes fine restaurant and country pub; it's a lovely country walk (just under two miles) and the owners are happy to drive you there and/or home again. Stradbroke is 2.6 miles away, with a couple more pubs and various village shops and there are many other quintessentially English villages with excellent pubs serving local food and ales close by.
The historic town of Framlingham is just over a quarter of an hour's drive, where you'll find a good selection of eateries, a supermarket and plenty of independent shops; plus a majestic Norman castle. For the sporty, there are fantastic cycle routes, horse riding, golf courses and sailing to enjoy.
This comfortable holiday home is an ideal base from which to explore East Anglia with major towns of Norfolk and Ipswich within reach and many picturesque coastal villages boasting stretches of unspoilt beaches with fishing huts and candy coloured seaside houses. Southwold is a must visit with a sandy beach, famous pier and excellent range of shops and restaurants plus, for beer lovers, it is home to the famous Adnams Brewery. Beautiful walks can be enjoyed at Dunwich forest and heath, Minsmere wildlife reserve and the pretty coastal village of Walberswick.

The owners of The Granary operate a carpentry workshop in the farm buildings next door; there may be minimal noise on weekdays from machinery but the owners can control this if it’s intrusive at all – you simply need to say!
There are two ground floor bedrooms and a shower room so the house is well suited for guests with a mobility problem. There are double doors from the courtyard into the kitchen/dining room, however, the opening into the living room is two foot wide and all other doors are standard width so probably wouldn't be accessible for wheelchairs. There's also a lip to the shower cubicle.
PLEASE NOTE if you're benefitting from a 'low occupancy' discount for two guests both ground floor bedrooms will be out of use. If you'd prefer to use a different room please give us a call and we'll check with the owners but the property is great for a couple as the stairs rise from the kitchen/dining area to the master bedroom with bathroom and dressing area.
