Number 10 at Thorpeness

The door to Number 10 opens onto a staircase leading to the airy open plan kitchen/living/dining room on the first floor of the building with a galleried bedroom with glimpse of the sea above. Tastefully furnished, there’s a large day bed, ideal for relaxing with a good book or used for a third guest; table with four chairs and well equipped kitchenette. A modern shower room is also on the first floor and ample storage for clothes.

There is also an allocated parking space in the nearby car park as well as secure bike storage

Entrance
Boat Lake was built to recall the form of the original Thorpeness Estate Office. The door to Number 10 opens onto the staircase rising to the lovely open plan living/kitchen/dining room on the first floor.

Living/Kitchen/Dining Area
Tastefully furnished, this airy room has a high vaulted ceiling at one side with steps leading to the galleried bedroom.

There are two steps down to the petite, yet functional kitchenette is well equipped and ideal for preparing light meals with fridge & freezer compartment, ceramic hob with two rings, microwave oven, Delonghi kettle and toaster and stainless steel sink.

A table with four chairs are in the dining area and the living room is nicely divided with a large rug. A built in day bed with large window behind is a great place to relax with a good book or can be used to accommodate a third guest. Equipment includes a flat-screen TV with Sky HD, built-in DVD player and choice of DVDs to enjoy. WiFi is provided.

Shower Room
There are two steps down to a landing with large cupboard on one side and shower room to the other with double walk in shower, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail, shaver socket and full length mirror.

Galleried Bedroom
Steep paddle steps with rail at either side rise to this bright double aspect bedroom with glimpse of the sea from the south facing window. Carpetted, the room has a double bed with storage drawers underneath, bedside drawers with attractive shell lamps reminding you of your proximity to the sea, an armchair and antique treasure chest.

Outside
The apartment has a dedicated car parking space in the nearby car park and spaces for bicycle parking in and around the building. There is also a communal laundry room fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Number 10 has a flat screen TV with Sky HD and built in DVD player with some DVDs to choose from. WiFi is also provided.

A travel cot and high chair are available on request upon booking.
Thorpeness is about 1½ miles along the beach from Aldeburgh and is a charming holiday village designed by the Scottish playwright and barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie a century ago. He decided to create an idyllic model seaside village, inspired by the writings of J M Barrie, author of Peter Pan. The village has a Meare (local for lake) and its several miles of shallow water can be explored in the summer time by rowing boat.

Number 10 is conveniently located behind The Kitchen Café/Restaurant which has a front garden, a large Collectors and Antique Emporium with the beach some 50 yards away. Thorpeness also has a well stocked village store, Meare-side shop and cafe, popular Dolphin Inn and a golf and country club. The area is ideal for sailing, cycling, or walking along the coast and inland.
Please note that the steps up to the galleried bedroom are steep and may not be suitable for guests with any mobility issues.

Sorry no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers are permitted at this property.

The day bed can be made up for a child, alternatively a travel cot and high chair are available.

Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
