What our guests say

"The cottage was beautifully furnished and very well equipped.  Comfortable bed and lovely patio area for sitting out in fine weather.  Plenty of walks, both locally and further afield, such as Dunwich village (very interesting museum) and Dunwich Heath.  The Sizewell B visitor centre is well worth a visit, especially in wet weather, with attractive walks along the sand dunes.  Thank you for a very enjoyable holiday."

Carriage House at Bruisyard

"Very enjoyable stay and week has flown. Cottage could not be faulted and ideally situated for touring East Suffolk. Thank you for the wine and biscuits. Andrew, Alison and Leo (Cocker Spaniel)."

"What a super renovation, lots of thought goes into making this a lovely place to stay. Beautifully furnished with lots of useful items, the Dyson, very useful! The wine and nibbles a lovely touch, thank you. This is certainly a great location, and so, so peaceful. A web of well used footpaths locally for us to explore, plus much more further afield. We can recommend the White Horse Inn at Sibton, excellent food, also the White Horse at Badingham."

"Thank you for a lovely stay in your cottage. It is real bit of luxury in the Suffolk countryside. It was a perfect base to explore Southwold, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge etc. We would recommend the White Horse in Badingham for a very cosy pub and lovely food (and dog friendly)."

Bruisyard is a small rural village set in beautiful and tranquil countryside by the River Alde in East Suffolk. The village is noted for the beautiful Grade 1 listed church of St Peter's which has a round tower that is believed to date from Saxon times, and for Bruisyard Hall which was the Abbey of the Order of the Poor Clares until the reformation when an Elizabethan Manor House was built on the site. Bruisyard is also known as the setting for the novel 'Joseph and His Brethren' by H.W.Freeman first published in 1928.

The Market Town of Framlingham, famous for having ‘The Castle on The Hill’ is less than five miles away and the Suffolk heritage coast is around 20 minutes by car.
